On October the 31st, the Concordia's crew did not make any exception to the Halloween tradition and celebrated it like they should. The night started with a dinner to introduce the costumes. At nine o'clock, the trick or treat tradition started and each crew member went to others' cabin to get candies. All those who have a sweet tooth were pleased with an abundance of sugar that didn't last for long with the lack of sugary meals on the ship. When the seasickness turned into a generalized sugar sickness, it was about time for a costume contest in the mess. The students filed in one after another to show their impressive costumes. The first place was a very impressive robot, second was a duo wearing Crayola crayon suits, followed by Jack and Sally coming directly from the movie "The Nightmare before Charismas". Last but not least of the Halloween tradition was a telling of horrifying stories. For those who dared, Mr Beatty had a story to scare everyone on the ship about a dead man on board. After the story, Cody was waiting for someone brave enough to go see where the man died and Sean (who knew someone was waiting for him) threw a bucket of water on him.
So think twice before saying that a ship in the middle of the ocean can not celebrate a scary Halloween with as many candies as on land.
