Palermo

25nov07

On the 23rd of November, Concordia left Spain and started its six day sail for Sicily. Although it seemed that the crew had some difficulties with rough weather, they still seemed to manage it very well. After all, every member of the crew had been largely anticipating our visit to Italy.

It was still morning when we arrived in Palermo. After enduring a rough and what seemed a long sail, we finally reached Palermo. Palermo, an Italian city located at the very edge of the island of Sicily, has been said to be one of the most beautiful, and tourist-ridden, city in all of Italy.

Considering what had been suggested by other people about Palermo, every member of the crew was ready to take a brief look with their own eyes. By all means, the crew had discovered that Palermo was famous for its delicious cuisine and had great architectural surroundings. Although the crew did many other excellent activities, such as riding bikes up Mont Pellegrino, watch trips were also a major highlight.

Eventually, the stay had to come to an end. It seemed like a big deal, since we felt so adapted to the cultures and to the place itself after only three days. At least we still have all our photos!
