Walvis Bay, Namibia

It was another fun-filled port for Sorlandet's crew!

Students spent March 4th driving around in 4x4's in massive sand dunes, through salt flats and tasting delicious Namibian oysters!

A special thank you goes out to Rory and Lisa Holland for arranging a sand boarding adventure. Everyone did at least 6 runs, and the top speed was clocked at 72km/hour – way to go Megan T!

During the sail to Saint Helena, the grade 11 and 12 students will be wrapping up Term One course work and writing mid term exams.

Today also marks a symbolic point in the year, as the ship turns west and essentially starts heading homeward bound to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. It seems as though the semester just started, however, that was 7 weeks ago! Having said that there are 6 fantastic ports and some great sailing conditions ahead of them!
