Update - Sail to Grenada

Spirits were high after our trip upriver in Belem, Brazil and we departed for Grenada on January 28th freshly stocked with provisions and newly energized.  The sail got off to a great start, with strong sailing winds and warm weather, so the crew enjoyed settling back into the comfort of at sea routines - class, galley, watch, etc!  We made such good progress we reached Grenada three days early and anchored offshore on February 5th.  On February 6th we called off classes in favor of a "Sunny Day" (the Caribbean equivalent of a "snow day) and celebrated our good sailing with not one but two swim calls and some much-welcomed rest and relaxation.  We finished the day with a movie night under the stars on deck.  February 7th we continued the fun with a fish (freshly caught!) barbeque and dinner on main deck.  We left our anchorage this morning to come alongside in St. Georges.  After looking out at the island the last three days are all excited to finally go ashore!  Our port programs in Grenada will take us to St. George's University for a campus tour and lecture on Caribbean History on February 10th, and a catamaran snorkeling adventure on the 11th!
