Sail aboard Sørlandet, a majestic 210 foot Class “A” square-rigged tall ship built in 1927, as we sail with a fleet of ships from around the world to Tall Ship Festivals at ports of call in all five Great Lakes.
Learn to sail a tall ship or just come along for the ride. All ages are welcome and no sailing experience is necessary. Our professional tall ship mariners will “teach you the ropes” – there are more than 200 on the Sørlandet – in our daily sail-training program.
You choose a level of participation based on your interests and capability – go aloft in the rig to set and stow sails, learn navigation, stand watch, take the helm, help the galley crew prepare a meal – it’s up to you.
Whether it’s the historic and scenic waterways of the Thousand Islands and St. Lawrence Seaway, Lake Superior’s dramatic natural beauty, starry nights on Lake Huron, a tall ship race, or a Parade of Sail into some of North America’s great cities, sailing the Great Lakes on one of the world’s most spectacular tall ships is the experience of a lifetime.
Our professional mariner crew will tailor your sail experience to your interests.
Join with the crew of other tall ships at special crew events at tall ship festivals in each port.
Choose one or multiple voyage legs between tall ship ports.
Two week leadership training programs.
If you are keen to experience the adventure of tall ship sailing, our crew will make sure you feel at home. You will join up to 40 other participants on your voyage.
