Class Afloat occupies the third floor of this three-story school. The Lunenburg Academy is an architectural masterpiece and is a landmark of the Town of Lunenburg. The unusual architectural style, enhanced by an abundance of decorative Victorian designs, sometimes referred to by the term "Gingerbread", creates a unique structure greatly admired by visitors to the town. This building, that is rich in history, with modern facilities, is considered one of the finest school buildings in the Maritime Provinces. Each classroom has two sets of large windows that overlook the Town of Lunenburg and the back harbour. The walls that aren’t occupied by windows have slate blackboards that run from wall to wall.
